Where does Zwift save your .fit files?

Every Zwift ride is written to a .fit activity file, and that file is kept in two places: on the device you rode with, and on Zwift's own servers. Here is where to find it on each platform — including the new PC location Zwift moved to in February 2026, which catches people out because most instructions still point at the old folder.

The short answer

PC — the location changed in February 2026

This is the one that wastes people's time. Zwift used to save activities under your Documents folder; since February 2026 new rides go to AppData instead, and old rides were not moved. So a folder that looks empty may simply be the wrong one of the two.

New location — open File Explorer and go to:

AppData is hidden by default. If you can't see it, turn on View → Show → Hidden items in File Explorer, or paste the path straight into the address bar.

Previous location, where anything older still lives:

If both locations are empty, Zwift's own advice is to reinstall and check again.

Mac

  1. Open Finder.
  2. Choose Go → Home.
  3. Open Documents, then Zwift, then Activities.

If your Mac syncs Documents to iCloud Drive, the folder lives in iCloud Drive's Documents rather than locally — the same trap as OneDrive on Windows.

iPhone and iPad

Zwift on iOS keeps activity files inside the app, so there's no Files-app folder to browse. Get them out from within Zwift:

  1. On the Zwift title screen, tap the grey file icon in the top-right corner.
  2. You'll see two columns: activity files on the right, log files on the left.
  3. Select the activity you want and tap OK.
  4. Email the files to yourself. (You need a mail app set up on the device for this.)

Or copy the whole folder off using a computer:

Android

Same as iOS: the files live inside the app rather than in a folder you can browse. On the Zwift title screen tap the grey file icon top-right, take the activity files from the right-hand column, tap OK, and send them to yourself with your email app.

Apple TV

Apple TV gives you no way to reach the files on the device — Zwift asks you to contact support if you genuinely need them from there. In practice, don't bother: download the ride from zwift.com instead, which has the same file.

zwift.com — works for every device

Because activity files are stored on Zwift's servers as well as your device, this is the quickest route regardless of what you rode on, and the only practical one for Apple TV:

  1. Go to zwift.com/feed and sign in.
  2. Select JUST ME.
  3. Open the activity you want.
  4. Click the cog icon.
  5. Choose DOWNLOAD FIT FILE.

Which file is which?

The Activities folder holds one .fit file per ride, named after the date and time the activity started. The fastest way to identify the ride you just finished is to sort the folder by date modified and take the newest file — easier than decoding names, especially if you ride several times a day.

Note that activity files use your device's local time. If that clock changes during a ride — a laptop waking on a different network, a phone crossing a time zone — the activity can end up with inconsistent timestamps. Setting the device to update date and time automatically before you ride avoids it.

Now you have the file — what next?

Most people come looking for a Zwift .fit file for one of two reasons: to upload the ride somewhere it didn't sync, or to combine it with a recording from a watch or bike computer. If it's the second, you'll also need the file from Garmin Connect — note that Garmin hands you a .zip, not a bare .fit.

With both files in hand you can merge them into one activity: the watch keeps heart rate, Body Battery, laps and physiology, and Zwift supplies power, cadence, distance, elevation and the virtual route. It runs in your browser, so neither file is uploaded anywhere — and you can drop Garmin's zip straight in without unzipping it.
